Overview
The Community Agencies Benefit Plans (CAB) offers a comprehensive and flexible group benefits plan specifically for non-profit agencies in Manitoba.
The plan includes the following mandatory benefits:
- Life and Accident Coverage: Includes basic and optional life insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), Dependent Life, and Voluntary Critical Illness coverage.
- Long-Term Disability Coverage: Extensive long-term disability coverage.
- Extended Health Coverage: Three levels of coverage options to choose from.
- Dental Coverage: Four levels of coverage to choose from, including Basic and Major services.
The following benefits are optional to add:
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Support for employees and their families, including management referrals.
- Executive Coverage: Enhanced Life, AD&D, and LTD coverage for executive staff.
- Short Term Disability Coverage- Extensive short-term disability coverage.
Eligibility and Enrollment on the plan is mandatory for all permanent full-time employees, with optional waivers available only for comparable external health and dental coverage.

Cost Sharing
Premiums must be cost shared between the agency and employees. Employees are required to pay 100% of their Long-Term Disability and Weekly Indemnity (STD) premiums in order to keep the benefit non-taxable income should they be approved for either Short-Term or Long Term Disability benefits.
