Benefits after a plan member passes away – if an employee dies while his/her dependents are insured for healthcare and dentalcare benefits under this policy, their healthcare and dental care coverage will continue to the earlier of:

     1.   the date they cease to qualify as insurable dependents;or

     2.   2 years after the employee’s death.

If the surviving spouse re-marries or obtains similar coverage elsewhere within the 24-month period described above, Canada Life must be notified in writing immediately, as coverage will need to be terminated.
